Combating Shame with Compassion | Sat, June 14 at 10:30am
As women, we all experience shame. Shame about our bodies. Shame about our sexuality. Shame about our roles as mothers, wives, friends, sisters. Shame about our behavior. Shame about our failures and short comings. The list goes on. Considering this is such a common experience, it is shocking how very little we talk about it in the church. In fact, the church unknowingly perpetuates the shame-cycles we so desperately wish to escape.
Join Faith as she discusses the impact of shame on our minds, bodies, and spirit by exploring both the biblical perspective and the latest scientific research on shame. Not only will you gain clarity of what shame is exactly and how it shows up in our day-to-day lives, you also gain the knowledge of how to be set free from it.
Join us on June 14th at 10:30 am at 411 Weber St. Bring a bag lunch if you’d like to stick around after the session to continue the discussion with others.
Bring a friend. This is something we all need to hear!
