LOCAL IMPACT TEAM

HarvestDowntown has a rich history of local engagement, believing that the church’s location in the heart of downtown Colorado Springs is purposeful and strategic.

The focus of local engagement is to reach and impact spiritually unreached and underserved populations in the six surrounding neighborhoods (plus the neighborhood in which you live!) with the gospel.

HarvestDowntown’s vision tree reflects the church’s structure and desired future. The roots of that tree are Worship, Mission and Community - the foundation for local outreach. Reflecting the branches of the tree, local efforts are currently divided into multiple areas, including neighborhoods, schools, at-risk adults and youth, the arts community and the 411 N Weber facility.

WAYS TO SERVE

ServeColumbia - New Needs!

The number of homeless children has increased to more than 50! The staff expresses huge thanks to Harvest for all our help.

Collecting Food

School has started and Harvest is supporting children experiencing homelessness at Columbia Elementary School during the school year.. There are about 45 kids who receive take home food bags at the end of each week. There are shelves in the foyer just inside the glass doors. These are the guidelines for food you bring:

*nothing that requires cooking

*Fruit or protein sources are great

*Nothing that requires plates/ bowls

*Things you can make with hot water at a 711 and eat in the car

*Any item needs a 3 week shelf life at minimum.

*individual portions

Also gallon zip lock bags.

The staff at Columbia are so appreciative of our ongoing help.
