Counter-Cultural Relevance seems like an oxymoron upon first glance. We must be relevant to the lives of the people around us, but we understand that the truth we speak into their lives is going to be Counter-Cultural. This is what we mean when we speak of Missional Living: To immerse oneself in the culture in such a way that we can relevantly communicate the truth of Christ.

As the values of the culture in which we live change, there is a cry from the culture for meaning and something different. Hence, we are faced with the responsibility to stand as a rock against the flow. By emphasizing the Counter-Cultural influence of Christ, we are demonstrating our sensitivity to an inherent need in a culture without absolutes or meaning...

Building Bridges of Love is our strategy to Reach our Circles of Influence. We believe that until an individual knows that she is loved, we will have no opportunity to speak the truth of God into her life.

Outreach is really an individual responsibility with the support of the Community of Christ . The effectiveness of the Community of Christ in outreach is dependent upon the ability of the individuals within the Community of Christ to Reach their Circles of Influence. We must build Bridges of Love that demonstrate compassion to the people around us.

The Community of Christ has the responsibility of empowering individuals to reach their Circles of Influence. We accomplish this is by providing Intentional Bridges of Love that can be used by individuals to reach their Circles of Influence. Some of these are our Interactive Nativity, Downtown Family Fun, Harvest Bowls, and Servant Evangelism.

Every one of us is connected to one another through relationships. In fact, a friend, of a friend, of a friend is your friend no matter who you are and where you live in the world. The interconnectedness of our lives leads naturally to influence for the sake of Christ

The degree of influence that we have is directly proportional to the love that we share. If we are individuals who demonstrate compassion and love that flow from our devotion to Christ, then opportunities to influence others for Christ will open up before us.

Every person has Circles of Influence that are unique to him. Even within a family, each family member knows different people and the degree of influence is determined by the relationships that he or she has. The more distant the relationship, the less influence; the closer the relationship, the more influence.

We hope that each person within our Community of Christ will have compassion on those within their Circle of Influence and Build Bridges of Love into their lives that will bear the weight of the Truth of Christ.
